WHO ARE WE :
Most of us have been involved over the last few years as volunteer first responders for the Midrand Community Police Forum (CPF) and sub-forums, helping in the fight against crime to the best of our ability. With limited resources, mainly our own, it just wasn’t enough for us to make the impact on crime that is needed. The cost to operate such infrastructures just wasn’t something that we could achieve as volunteers, however, bringing our communities on board, we could build better and stronger communities, while taking the fight to the criminals.
This was the beginning of Community Tech Advancement, an entity that will use technology to advance safer communities by using subscriptions tailored for your home and your business, linking our community members via digital platforms, procuring additional resources for the community which will complement the current emergency structures. This is how citizens could make a real difference in our communities.
The reality is that, as citizens, we are the life blood of our society. We deserve to be taken care of and it’s critical that we start now to take care of our public areas around us, known as the community and their citizens . As volunteers, private security, or law enforcement, the fight against crime is relentless and ongoing. At times, these criminals will even take a life without hesitating.
Together as the citizens in our communities, we could make a difference, save lives and create safer public spaces. At the same time, together, we make it harder for criminals to infiltrate our communities and commit the crimes without facing the consequences of doing so.
Through our investigations, we found that there are many communities out there, just like ours. Beginning in Midrand, we hope to roll out these digital platforms to other communities with citizens, that:
- Want to stay in touch with their communities;
- Want to be part of economic growth, directly and indirectly;
- Believe that standing together so much more can be achieved;
- Understand it takes all of us to make our communities great;
- Starting today can make a difference in the path of our future; and
- Want to support their law enforcement, security and volunteers achieve more.
